Camping can be a lot of fun but not when you can’t get the rest and sleep because of the fear of being bitten by insects and mosquitoes especially in the wild. Sometimes people cover with blankets that are treated with chemicals to ward off insects but it is safer to disallow direct contact with the skin for any allergic reaction.
How to avoid insect bites while camping?
Here are ways you can keep your camping free of insect bites:
- Water-proof tents with zippers can keep the insects out. It serves a dual purpose of protecting against rain and insects while making breathing easy with freshly circulated air inside the tent too.
- A bug repellant can work too ward off insect while camping. Go for an odorless repellant or else it would suffocate you inside your tent.
- Keep yourself well covered with adequate covering and wear long-sleeved clothes to avoid insect bites. Cover the wrists, ankles and collar as well.
You could be very uncomfortable to wear long clothes or cover well enough during hot weathers but adequate covering can protect you from insect bites, especially if you are camping in the wilderness or during moist climate.
